I was not jumping on the 27" when it was announced.. Now the new M1 has arrived and I kinda liked it..
But it's no go for me with no SD Slot, and so few USB ports..

Is the 27" intel iMac a no go today? (I don't care about the looks) but I do care about connectivity and will it still be able to run well down the road?..

I jumped on the 2020 27" when it was announced. No regrets. Given how many. Intel Macs Apple has sold and still sells, I think it will be supported for at least the next 7 years.

I would feel a bit weary to think that everything is transitioning to ARM architecture with M1 Chips and future chips M2/above leaving Intel Macs with "enough power" to keep up with future software updates in MacOS

I would expect to notice "lack of there of" performance in comparison to proper Silicon performance within MacOS

PS definitely not putting Apple down for there current product availability to performance ratio they will have your back with the years to come. Cheers! ;)

If you need a real GPU intel 27 inch is still the only way to go, friend. Get the top end GPU.
