I am bored waiting for Fedex to deliver my sparkling new I7 27" imac with 8GB ram and 1TB HD. So I thought I would share what I am getting. Coming from a lifelong Windows user here, although I had an imac a few years ago for a short time. I also got some great software installed. (or at least I hope its great)

Final Cut Studio 3
Adobe CS5 Masters Collection
Aperture 3
Office 2008
Fusion w/Windows 7 & Windows XP Pro
Toast 10
Logic 9
iWork 09
iLife 09

And in case anyone really cares I will be syncing this bad boy up with my cool new Iphone 4 and ipad

Did you pay full price for all that software? You must have money to burn, I'm sure you can get discounted versions of those. Amazon has iWork 09 for $30. I work in a university and I can get Office 08 for $15, and Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit for $15 as well. Surely you have friends in universities that could get you discounted software? But if you have the cash to spend, I guess why not.

Good line up. You should be able to do a lot with all of that software!

Also, like SiMBa37 said, I hope you didn't pay full retail for all that.

Just so the same thing doesn't happen to you that happened to me.If you are there when the truck pulls up make SURE they don't carry the box with the handle.I'm not the only one that has experienced Apples shoddy box handle when the Fedex dude DROPPED IT!!

btw....have fun with the i7 and for peace of mine don't look for flaws ....you'll probably find them (even though they aren't there>>>...)

Haha, I know EXACTLY how your day is going. Nothing sucks more than hanging around the house waiting for something to come in the mail. Always looking out the window when you think you hear a truck pull up and just dying to get your hands on your new toy. Its all worth it though.

And the sad news no fedex home delivery service on Monday in my area. What the heck is that! Anyway tommorow it gets here now. No I did not pay full retail for that software.

Truth is I'm not sure what some of that stuff does. I just noticed that is what most get on their macs so I had to have it

I'm in the same boat (delivery-wise).

My wife just called... It's arrived. She's preparing to become a mac-widow for a few days.

This will be the longest afternoon ever. (I'm at work so can't get my hands on it for another four hours!

Sorry to rehash this, but this is totally bugging me.

I added up the cost of all of your software assuming you really meant Adobe CS5 MASTER edition: $3574.85  That doesn't even include the price of windows 7 or xp OS's (single user license) .

Your iMac price is already $2400 possibly more as configured.

So are you telling us that you just spent an extra $3600 dollars on top of your $2400 iMac (total $6000) for software you don't even know if you'll even need, but just thought you "had to have it?"

Dude, if you got that much money to just blow, how about you send us all some free iPads or something, huh? Anyway, happy for your purchase, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Awesome, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

I got it and spent the last 4 hours setting it all up. I had to import tons of music , tv shows, movies and a zillion iPhone and iPad apps. I also imported about 30gb of photos.

Now I just need to figure out why I would use aperture over iPhoto. I like that faces thing it is really cool. And of course my sons favorite is photo booth

The fun begins!!

Good luck with your new "toy"!

Congrats and keep us up to date on your aperture thoughts.

My 27/i7 should be here tomorrow.

I am still waiting till my Imac i5 is shipped... think I have to wait at least 5 or 6 more days till I have my fun!!!!

Mine is all go - the migration assistant took all the hassle out of it.
The only issue I had was the black-screen problem when installing win 7 (I know, I know ). But after figuring out what I needed to do to fix that, I'm all go.

Handles everything very well. Gaming performance is fine, not blazing, but definitely good enough for Dawn of War 2 (I did turn the resolution down to 1080).

God I love that machine.
