When opening the laptop after extended period asleep, it takes physically pressing the power/touch ID button to wake up my 14" MBP. I'm thinking it's a software bug because it happened after installing 12.1.

Note: Only happens after extended periods of sleep. Anything shorter and the notebook responds normally.

Anyone else having this issue? Could it be a bug with the deep sleep function Mac's have?

I have had that issue a couple of times on my 16" I9 since doing the latest upgrade. Only happens after an extended sleep such as if I don't use it for a whole day.

Does anyone have an issue where this also pops out the Restart - Shutdown - Sleep dialog as it wakes up from sleep?

I am not having this specific issue, however wake from sleep is regularly failing to properly reinitialise connection to a crappy HP 22" monitor I have at work. I just get a bunch of static unless I unplug/plug the port.

I've been seeing the same thing on an M1 Mini with 12.1. If your Mac requires you to enter your password to wake from sleep, you may not have to unplug and replug the monitor. I was doing that, but then I accidentally discovered that pressing esc stopped the wake from sleep. When I tried it again, I had a clear display requesting the password. This only happens when I use my monitor on the HDMI connection, not if it's throught the Thunderbolt USB C port.

On 12.3.1 and M1 Pro 16 inch. After long wake, touch id does not work, I have to enter password. Though message on screen says to enter "touch id or password". Also the wake is much much slower than if I wake it after a short sleep. I get a progress bar and then some seconds to wake up.
