I've been using OpenCore Legacy Patcher on my 2012 cMBP for a while, first on Monterey, then on Ventura. So far, it's been stable and a great way to keep my machine going. The config for the machine is 16GB of OWC RAM, a 500GB WD Blue, and a brand new replacement HD cable from Apple since those fail quite frequently.

I've found that there is a 80% chance that if I close the lid and sleep the machine for any decent amount of time (15+ minutes), I will open it to find a black, yet backlit screen. It will sit for about 10 seconds on such a screen, then reboot itself successfully.

Has anyone else come across this kind of behavior in OpenCore and found a fix? Perhaps I should use the console and see what is not allowing it to wake up properly.

both my 2012 and 2015 MBP's run Ventura using OCLP, and both are fine. i'd recommend joining their discord server to report this, the devs of OCLP are there and actively reply to people.
