I've read some forums and this seems very plausible, but I, for the life of me, cannot get it working.

Mac mini
2.5 GHz i5, 4 GB ram
Lion 10.7.4

iPad third generation
64 GB wifi + LTE
iOS 5.1.1

Right now I'm trying with LogMeIn via my iPad; not one of the apps, just logging in via their site, while the desktop client is running on the mini.

From this help page here: http://help.logmein.com/SelfServicePrintViewFAQ?Id=kA030000000DGB3CAO

"Important:
The Wake on LAN function requires at least one other LogMeIn host to be online and available on the same LAN. Please see the LogMeIn Pro User Guide (linked below) for more information."

Does this really mean what I think it means? That it won't work unless there is another non-sleeping device running the desktop app on the same LAN as the sleeping mini?

This is not possible with my setup.

Do any of you know of any other solution? I'm just interested in being able to wake the mini from sleeping remotely via my iPad.

Yes I have, but as I stated, unfortunately LogMeIn won't work for me so I'm desperately looking for another application/solution.

The only reason I ask is because I do the exact same setup as you and it works perfectly fine. I have a Mac Mini wirelessly connected to my router that goes to sleep after 10 minutes of inactivity, but I'm still able to login to it via my iPad and the LogMeIn Ignition app and having the LogMeIn Desktop Client running on my Mini.

Hmmmm, that's interesting. I've tried via the Ignition app, but I don't even see the option to wake? I just see remote desktop, file management and properties.

It's even more interesting, because I actually got it working, but only as described: when another computer is online. Problem is I'm about to sell this computer (Mac Pro 3,1 running 10.7.4). Even more interesting: I could only get it working so that the Pro awoke, not the other way around. And again, this is all from LogMeIn's website not any of their apps.

Thanks for helping me out.
