I did a search but couldn't find any definitive answers.

Has any one been successful waking the iMac up from sleep mode remotely? When I take my Macbook with me traveling, I would like to be able to wake up my iMac at home if I need to access anything. I know there is a way to set the iMac on a timer to have it awake during certain hours of the day but that might not be suitable. I would like to be able to wake it up only when I need to use it.

Thanks and sorry if I missed this in another thread.

Just leave it on and put the display to sleep when you travel.
That is what I was trying to avoid doing. I was just wondering if anyone has actually been able to wake it up over the internet. I have tried different setups like port forwarding my router and using dslreport/wakeup but nothing seems to work.
