Why isnt this available for rental yet in HD on iTunes? Its available from the Xbox 360 rental store in SD and HD, but not on iTunes

WTF?

Its frigging Disney and Pixar. You would thing Apple would get first crack at this movie. No wonder the Apple TV is such a joke. I own one, but I still have to use my 360 to play the latest rentals.

Well, in fairness to the OP, Wall-E could have just been made available in the eight minutes between his post and your answer.

ur trying to rent it on the apple tv right? i havent seen pixar on it myself but its on the itunes store for mac. idk cause disney is kinda a concubine of apple.

Just a guess but the OP may be from the UK like me and it`s only available to buy here at the moment. Would of helped if the OP had said which store he`s using.

Oh snap, it is available for rental, but not in HD.

Thats now my complaint.

I'm almost convinced I looked only yesterday and it wasn't available to rent in normal or HD. So, the poster that said its status may have changed in 8 minutes might actually be right...

No matter what, sometime after wall-e, you have to see the short film "burn-e". It is on the dvd. Presto is on the dvd too, which is the one seen at the theater. Presto is available to buy at itunes (US). Hopefully burn-e is too. You really need to watch burn-e 10 times.

And, it is listed in the "new to rent" section....

Burn-E is great!

Everyone who loves film at all should buy the Blu-ray of Wall-E, IMHO.

(Apparently Blu-ray isn't such a bag of hurt Pixar and Disney).

Are any of the Pixar films available for rent in HD on :apple:TV? If not, then don't expect this one either, unfortunately. It's very frustrating, and makes me wonder why I even bought our :apple:TV.

If anyone would bother to actually READ this guy's question, its obvious he's wondering why Wall-E is not available to rent in HD...i'm sure he realizes its available for rent in SD. And yes, its still not available in HD. I'm holding out for it, but at this point, I'm losing hope. Apple has done an absolutely horrible job bringing HD renting to itunes. There is no excuse for it. Especially when netflix and other are able to get them.

Hence, why I still have my netflix account and oppo unconverter...

Out of curiosity, why do you want an cartoon in HD? Are you hoping for 5.1 sound?

My daughter loves Pixar movies, so I bought Wall-E the day it came out!

The part about HD was added after it was pointed out that it was available for rental.

Anyone one want to hazard a guess as to why Days of Thunder is only available to rent but not buy on iTunes UK store?

I just want to buy the damn thing. It was the first movie I spotted when I bought my ATV that I wouldn't mind having. Since then it has been removed from iTunes and then resurfaced (twice) but its still only available for rent.

If Apple dont bring out a massive ATV update tomorrow I will be abandoning mine because I am sick and tired of the hoops I have to jump through just getting stuff onto it (not to mention lack of HD).

Sorry. Hijack over. When I bought Wall-E I'm sure it was available to rent.

I've Supplemented my ATV with a Box from Vudu after their Xmas Special. They have much more available in HDX format. I still use ATV for Streaming my Ripped TV Stuff.

This is available to rent in HD now. We watched it the other night and it looked great!
