So the kitchen in my new apartment is very small (yay New York!). I'd love to be able to put the iPad on the wall while I'm cooking so that I can see it since I really don't have enough counter space to stand it up. But nothing that is a permanent mount. Maybe something magnetic that sticks to the refrigerator? Or something that can be command-striped to a cabinet door?

I used a magnetic case and fixed a metal strip to the wall, when I wanted to do something similar with an iPad.

I wish I was this industrious or that the selection of Mini 6 cases allowed for this level of creativity but I think I can hang this with removable Command picture strips to the cabinet. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KVJ5MRX/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=ABYQA2HKLXAJ3&psc=1

Careful though, the command strips can occasionally dry out and detach, had that happen to some of the supposedly stronger picture strips.

For a magnetic case, the famous Zugu cases are usually magnetic.

OP, it's only "small" if most everyone else around you has "bigger."

In NYC:
  • small is NORMAL,
  • average is McMansion,
  • McMansion probably involves some kind of securities fraud not yet charged... or celebrity/baron status.
It's all relative. See also "tiny houses" which are likewise only tiny if surrounding houses are average or McMansions. If they are also tiny, it's NORMAL. Build a tiny house among a sea of dog houses and you have the sprawling McMansion of that neighborhood.

As to hanging the Mini without something permanent, I'd be seeking some kind of (counter clip-on or traditional) stand option so that gravity is not your consistent enemy. Sooner or later, gravity wins. Cracked Mini 6 will probably be a shocking cost to repair. Maybe something like one of these kinds of things: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KYMFVBL/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_NHB4C43YZAQTQFZZNGK9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Yes but he needs to be able to remove the wall mount without any trace. I'm guessing you are assuming the "mount" is the fridge... which would work if that works for OP. He does mention the fridge option, so that probably does work.

NYC landlord will probably keep the entire security deposit- if not demand more- if he needs to affix a non-fridge option to a wall.

I've been here for 25 years so I'm familiar w/ NYC space from all the apartments I've lived in from The Bronx to Brooklyn. It's the smallest kitchen I've ever had. But thanks for the mansplain?

She.

Command strips are a New Yorker's best friend.

It's not meant to be up there for extended periods of time or fixed permanently so I think it'll be ok. I'm an expert command strip installer and none of my heavier framed photos have fallen off so far. lol. But I'll look into the Zugu cases!
