I use both. Must say 1Password is much better on the desktop than eWallet.
I had to use a trial PC version to set up eWallet on the phone. It's very pretty there (phone) and am happy I have it (for minimal entries). Desktop version is more cumbersome to use than 1Password.
As for eWallet coming out with a desktop version...maybe not!
A few months ago, their site said they would release a Mac desktop version by the end of the year. Now it says that they are "seriously" considering a Mac version. I wouldn't bet on it.
Without the desktop version, the iPhone app is limited.
I have over 500 entries in 1Password. I wouldn't surf the web without it. I wouldn't order online without it. I don't think I could live (on the internet) without it!!!

This App is not the same as eWallet, is call Wallet and is far away from eWallet.

After reading info from last link, it looks like it functions the same as eWallet on the desktop, though. Meaning you have to open the program and link to the site from within the program.
An icon in the browser toolbar that lets you click to select log-in/credit card info, etc info from within the browser itself is much simpler, IMO.
And though it says it's coming Nov 8th to iPhone...it's not here yet.
They may also have to change the name as a different developer already has an app called "wallet".

I use the desktop App love it and that why I waiting for the mobile app. also it seem to be cool and to have a really good interface.

there's a free download trial of the Mac desktop app available (as well as a 30 day money-back guarantee) that's what I did before I bought it. it only took me a few days of using the trial to decide this was a must-have app, and far superior to what I was using for many years prior (SplashID)

well after being a happy user of SplashID on PalmOS and Mac for many years, I recently switched to 1Password, and it's way better IMO, and worth the slightly higher price. Haven't used eWallet though. And the iPhone app called Wallet mentioned at top of this thread is "coming Nov 8th" and, well..., it's already end of Nov. not even sure if that one syncs with the desktop. so I don't know how you measure the value in that... And the 2nd Wallet app mentioned by cjosee seems to be desktop-only - is it the same as the first one? (there are 2 different websites referenced)
SplashID and eWallet are both $20 for desktop plus $10 for iPhone. Total $30. if you use on more than 1 desktop, presumably you need an extra license.
Wallet by Waterfall Software is $15, Mac only, it seems.
The non-released Waterfall for iPhone is ?? ... coming Nov 8th.
1Password is $40 for desktop (for as many computers as you own) plus $0 for iPhone. 15% off sale, so only $34. so I'd hardly say "...not cheap" if you're talking about actually-available solutions for iPhone + desktop w/sync.
on the other hand I think there are some other wallet type apps for iPhone only, if you don't want desktop sync and want to save money, but I don't remember them all...
Note: the free trial of 1Password is fully functional for 30 days. If I recall, the only thing you lose after 30days is the ability to add new records, otherwise you can continue to use it after that. so go ahead and give it a try, you have nothing to lose. this kind of trial is very fair, IMO.

p.s. no, I don't work for Agile (1Password), just a happy customer. I was skeptical before, since SplashID worked well for me. but now there's no comparison. support from Agile seems good too - there's an active forum and developer's blog. those are things worth considering too.
I'm with you. I used SpashID for many years on the desktop & on Palm. Downloaded the trial of iPassword when released. Ported over my SpashID data and bought the program within a day.
I then entered everything on both programs for what seemed like forever...
Once 1Password came out with a web app for iphone, I finally got to throw away the palm! Yay!!!!!! And now there's a native iPhone app. For free!!!
Beyond the ease of having all software registrations, logins & cc/license/insurance/etc., etc., etc. info with you at all times, the ability to click a browser icon and have identities, CC info and logins automatically entered (desktop) when needed is worth whatever they want to charge, IMO.
This is my most used program. I can not express the peace of mind it gives me to not have that info floating around in keychains on my computer, nor having to type them in when purchasing from a site or having to type in log-ins at banks and other financial institutions.
...And one other little bonus, which I think was already mentioned in this thread...I have 4 Chase accounts I access- Mine, my husband's & two family members. Even if saved in a browser, or even partially saved, it would take 4 different browsers so that I wouldn't have to remember/lookup or type the info.
With 1Password, I click the icon and all Chase accounts are listed. The program knows what logins I need as it reads the web address. I chose the one I want to access. Multiply this by multiple credit cards and banks...whew! Life is so much simpler (and safer) now.

And yes, I bought eWallet as I like the looks on the phone and would probably buy the desktop version if it ever materialized to enable syncing. But it does not do what 1Password does nor does the Wallet app.
I got 1Password free from a poster on here who was so kind to give me a free gift. I was planning on buying it in a few weeks, but he saved me $40. 1Password is easy to use and it works great. I love how it easily syncs between my iPod touch and my Mac. I highly recommend it.
I'm in total agreement with everything you said, especially the above statement!
as you said, the way it manages multiple userids/passwords for any site is very handy too

It seems that Wallet for iPhone was finally released tonight. Can't wait to see how it performs.
