Just bought an Apple Watch 6 and added my cards to my wallet and thought I’d just be able to hold my watch to the reader but nothing happened so used my phone.

Cards been confirmed on watch by my bank, what am I missing?

Thanks

Did you double tap side button then hold?

Did you double tap side button then hold next to/over the reader?

Hmmh, I have always “double-pressed” and trying to double tap and then hold results in the power off menu - can you share more insights on how exactly you do this?

Just double press button, the hold face down with screen near reader. You should get an acknowledgement transaction was complete.
This what screen should look like:

Now we all know what your Apple Card looks like 😝

Seriously though I can confirm double pressing the side button (Not the round one) brings up your cards. Then you just select the one you want and put it by the reader.

As others mentioned, double press the side button (not the crown) to bring up cards, then hold near the reader.
Fun fact: It's all done with NFC so you can leave your phone behind (and don't need a cellular watch) and you can still pay.

You would have to be really stupid not to even realise there was a side button.

Obviously I’m not that stupid.

OK, I am. Thank you. It works now.

When I receive a text my watch vibrates but the text doesn’t show unless I go into messages, can I get them to display when they arrive?

Thanks again.

so much easier and faster just to tap the cc. If you have multiple ccs, the wallet does not make it convenient to choose the one you want.

In the watch app on your phone, go to notifications, messages - check those settings
