I JBed my iphone a while back, and used Customize to apply my wallpaper to the home screen background. At one point I used iphone browser and dropped the picture I liked as the 'wallpaper.png' file and replaced the default one in the process.

Since then, I cannot change wallpaper anymore. It has not effect, whatever I do and Customize crashes at boot up. I have upgraded my iphone, I have even restored it, re-JB etc. but the wallpaper stays the same. Now if I use iphone browser, I cannot find the location of that default wallpaper.png in the new filing. Can someone help, either way...where is the wallpaper.png so I can just drag and drop a new pic or a better permanent fix?

Many thanks!

Try Winterboard! its soo powerful.. download it from cydia and a few themes that will be places in /Library/Themes and just mod them folders to however u want ur phone to look or simply select User Wallpaper in winterboard and ur lockscreen walpaper will be us springboard one

There is a file called LockBackground.jpg in private\var\mobile\library.

Delete this file and you should be OK.

(PS This question has been posted lots of times. A search would have got you this information.)

thanks for your reply. I was hopeful and browsed to this location, but once there, there are another 20 odd folders to go through and I didn't find the said file. Do you have the complete location please?

Well, on my phone, it is in that directory, in my file browser it's at the bottom of the list below all the 20 sub-directories.

how bizarre, this doesn't show in my iphone browser... You said in a previous post that there had been many threads on this and that I should search. I did, but alas couldn't find any answers! Could you help. Merci moi un mouton!

Apologies, the Lockbackground file is the Lock screen not the Home screen picture.

Found this elsewhere:
"yeah this has happened to me a few times. Sometimes in customize if you change the lockscreen wallpaper it will stay there even after you change the theme. You'll have to SSH into the phone and delete the wallpaper. I think it was just in the mobile category and then at the bottom. You'll find it, it should just be called lockscreenwallpaper. Just double click to make sure thats it and delete it. you should be fine after that."

I've not used the customise app so I don't know if it puts its files elsewhere. Even if it's not the one above, I guess you're looking for a file called lock*******.jpg somewhere on your phone.

Man this is so frustrating, can't find the file anywhere! Anyone know a SSL with a file search engine?
