Wallpaper returns to default after reboot.

Recently did a clean install of yosemite on my rMBP and I have encountered an issue. Whatever wallpaper I set and reboot, the wallpaper changes back to the default one. I researched this issue and checked out other threads and still haven't found a fix.

One member on here recommended deleting the files User/Library/Caches/com.apple.systempreferences and/orUser/Library/Caches/com.apple.desktop.plist.

to no avail. Anyone have a solution to this yosemite non sense!?

Open up System Preferences. Desktop and Screen Saver to see if your wallpaper are shown. Are they shown >

The only thing i can think of is if you are using a picture from an external source (like a USB External hard drive) and if you don't have the drive plugged in it then the last wallpaper used (if it was the default one, like in your case) it will use that.

Maybe that could be it.

Are your wallpapers in the default pictures directory on your mac?

my wallpapers are not from an external source, they're located on my HDD in my default "pictures folder". Before I did a clean install of yosemite I didn't have this issue.

I've had the same issue every since the first Yosemite install. My mistake was deciding to use the beta version.

Curious, are you still have this issue? I did read you mentioned you did a clean install, makes me thing there is a corruption somewhere. I don't think there is a setting to set the default wallpaper back for the new logged in session.

This one has me stumped. Have you done a disk utility permissions repair?

ya I'm still having this issue, its weird i could go like 3-4 days without it happening and then randomly it will change to my default paper. I've tried all methods and checked out every thread possible. Yes I did do a disk utility permissions repair and everything checked out to be fine. I guess you could say I've come to really like the default wallpaper haha. I think ill just have to reinstall yosemite maybe its a weird glitch, pretty annoying tho if you ask me!

Hi,

I would suggest this :

Delete this file :

~/Library/Application Support/Dock/desktoppicture.db

Right click the above line / Services / Reveal in Finder, then delete.

Then restart.
