When will this happen? I could see them sell a bunch over time.

Our local Walmart completely overhauled the electronics section, they moved the video games over to the right, removed the glass panes that protect the games, and individually put each game in its own plastic security case.

Walmart won't carry them. I'm still surprised they carried the iPhone but at $97 dollars it does fit in line with Walmart's "Low Cost" branding.

iPad is a bit pricey. I'm not saying Walmart won't carry it. I just personally doubt it until the price drops.

Some very useless information posted in this thread, such as how the local walmart has rearranged their furniture :).

Employee at my local walmart said they will not be carrying the iPad because it is too costly of an item.

I've never looked at Walmart's PCs, but don't they run something near the cost of the iPad? And what about video game consoles?

yeah, walmart sells HP laptops that run about 500 or so,
i don't think the ipad would be out of the question for selling.

they sell the 64gb iPod Touch which is about 400,
so selling an ipad should be totally fine by walmart standards.

Walmart is a great distribution outlet for Apple. There are 673 Best Buy stores that are selling iPads. How many Walmart stores are there in the US and in the rest of the world?

12 posts and not one, Walmart will bring down Apple's upscale image post. Man, this board is slipping. :D

I'd love to see the iPad in Walmart. Mainly because i work for one of their companies and i'd get discount :p

knowing them though, i just can't see it happening. It's too much of a "premium" item.

That's not exactly a reputable source. When you asked the person in electronics was he working the the garden department the day before or the paint/hardware department the next day?

Makes complete sense for Walmart to carry it since thay have retail presense just about anywhere compared to Apple stores and Best Buys. It will save Apple a ton of money on logistics and advertisement alone.

Are you drunk, or do you just have a short memory.
