Hey all,
I got my lovely new MacBook Pro on Monday just there, and it's absolutely stunning! Checked for all the symptoms of the other MBP's had and this one is probably the best one I'm going to get.
The yellow screen issue is non-existent to my eyes. Might not be the case with other people, but if I look at a really acute angle I can see yellow, but I'll be looking at it face on all the time, so that doesn't really bother me at all.
The pulsing 'wavy' display was apparent after I installed the updates, but after about 10 minutes it completely disappeared and still hasn't cropped up after 5 days of using it.
Battery was fully calibrated as per Apple Support's directions and have 5450mAh on 100% from a total of 5500mAh as it left the factory 7 weeks ago. That to me is very reasonable and I won't pick over it too much.
The high pitched audio issue was very apparent when connecting up my 2.1 speaker setup to the headphone jack. I have a Creative X-Fi connected to USB, so it will not be an issue to me anymore.
Temperatures are quite average from other observations I've made with regard to other people's temperatures. 45-55C while doing my normal stuff (Camino, iTunes, Adium) and when running both cores at 100% in Terminal temperatures reach up to 80C then the fans kick in at 4000rpm. This I hope is the norm.
Overall, I'm very happy with the whole machine, here's a before and after comparison:
BEFORE
iMac, 20 inch, 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM, 250GB Hard Drive, 256MB X1600
AFTER
MacBook Pro, 15.4 inch matte, 2.4GHz, 2GB Ram, 160GB Hard Drive, 256MB 8600.
I can get 4GB RAM from Crucial for £150 (I laugh out loud at Apple Store wanting £480 for the same) so I'll eventually have some more RAM under the hood at some point.
I won't keep you waiting any longer, so here are some obligatory MacBook Pro opening photographs

Any questions?
Chris
