I believe Apple stores have a 14-day return policy. Do you think there’s any chance they’d make an exception in this case, maybe even for store credit?

I want to buy a refurb iMac but I can’t justify essentially flushing $120 CAD down the toilet. Since the iMac obviously comes with a keyboard, I’ll have no use for the one I just purchased last month.

Regardless, I’m going to try and see if I can return it as a one-time exception sort of thing. Hopefully they’ll allow it.

As you said, you can try and see if they would grant you this exception in their policy, you have nothing to lose. But I think chances of success are near 0
That’s interesting, because I’d actually be more surprised if they didn’t accept the return.

But I’ll be fine with either decision. It’s worth a shot at least.

If they don’t accept, that pretty much makes the decision for me to hold off on buying the iMac.

Update:

Success. They accepted the return for an Apple gift card for the value of the keyboard. Ordered the 2019 4k iMac and will be picking it up in store this week.
That's awesome! ? I recently sold my 2017 12 inch MacBook to score a refurb M1 iMac too. Been loving this screen! They perhaps hyped up the speakers a little too much in some reviews and based on my expectations with MacBooks but it gets the job done certainly.
