Alright Comrades !

Finally deciding to take the plunge and press the buy button but to avoid any tint and yellow screen issues I am looking out for latest month batch production i.e. August or September Production. Anybody who has recently purchased the 10.5" iPad with a serial number starting with "DMP" and is an August or September batch ? can you check the chipmunk site and tell if it is an August or September production. Trying to figure out if August or September production batch is circulated in the Market ? Any new buyers can you confirm the month of the batch of production ?

Why?

I think at this point, being in October, the odds having a tablet made in July, or June is probably remote, but it all depends on where you bought it.

For instance, say I buy an iPad from bestbuy, that isn't very busy, that tablet could be significantly older then if I bought an iPad from my apple store, or online from apple.com

Just asking how hold your tablet is, doesn't really give you anything because depending on where you buy it, there's a chance you get a different batch

If it were me, I would just go ahead and make the purchase. Nothing says that current units won’t have an issue related to any component of the device. Tomorrow Apple could receive a batch of displays that run a little warmer or cooler in colour, and these displays could be destined to be used in the iPads to be made this week. Buy and if it has a defect return it.

All depends on the flow of stock. Generally you'll find Apple themselves have the 'newest' stock as sales are highest, going 3rd party seller may be slower flow of stock through their inventory.

One thing to consider - Avoid 'when' it was manufactured and focus on where your buying from, going direct from Apple the return policies are easier than a 3rd party or small retailer.
