Hi Guys,

is there a away where by I can compare two Photos simultaneously side by side at the same time in a Macbook Pro? Can the Native Photos APP in Mac do it ? or is there a MAC APP that will do it for me ? If yes, which one ?

Open both in the Preview App?

But does that let the user view Photos like for e.g half of the Mac screen for one Photo and Half for the other ? That way ? Like for e.g. on an iPad I use a APP called Twinviewer which displays both the Photos side by side occupying half/half screen ? So does the Preview in Mac let you do that ?

Open two photos in preview app this is result.

Expand your universe!

Preview>Preferences>General>When opening files:>Open each file in its own window

And then after that, hold the green expand button until it goes to a selection view, so you can select the other window and they go into dual split-screen

The native Photos app, whilst not allowing side-by-side like Apperture used to, does have a function for something similar. Command-click both images and then double click. You can only see one, but swiping between them or clicking arrow keys will cycle between only those two

I'm still learning mac after migrating from windows. so thanks Brian :)

Did not know that setting was there

Might work for him though. I figure more options is better options.

Fair point :). If anyone is interested in a very quick way of doing a Blink comparison, just open your files in a single Preview document, and export the two (or more) images into a single PNG or similar image format that only supports a single image. Preview will be able to see them as separate images, but tools like QuickLook won't and it'll quickly flash between the two images.

In 10.13.5, I just open one file, and then open another file (and so on) and they each show up in their own window. FWIW, Preview-Prefs-Images is set to Open groups of files in the same window. <-- this will happen if I select multiple files in finder, and then click Open With.

No matter the method of opening, if the setting is set to group, Preview will open the files in a single window, if it receives all the "Open" requests at once". If it receives them as separate events, it will open each in a new window.

Create a new Photos album--call it Compare--and put each image in it. That was my work-around for the old iPhotos handy flag feature.
