Want to connect a Motorola DCX3400 to my 27" iMac

Here are the specs from the Motorola website.


HD INTERFACES - 1394, Component, HDMI

DATA PORTS - Ethernet, eSATA, USB, Serial

P.S. I already own an Elgato Hybrid 2009; I guess i'll use it i have no other option.

The adapter is an HDMI to displayport but I don't believe its available yet.

I believe you can connect it with FireWire if you get an fw400 to 800 adapter cable. The you need the FireWire SDK to view or record the mpeg transport stream.

It will only give you unencrypted channels.

You might be able to do HDMI->DVI->Converter->MiniDisplayPort. However, HDCP may or may not be an issue, and it is a tad pricey. There are other options for the converter, but they do exist.
