When I installed ios 5 apparently something corrupt happened. I have small bugs and annoyances that no one seems to have since installing ios 5. I've tried a restore, and upgraded to the 5.0.1 thinking that might overtake the corrupt part but it didnt.
Taking to an apple rep at the store, he seems to think its now in my backup. Therefore if i always restore to the same backup then the bugs will always be there. Im done trying to figure it out and am getting the 4s tomorrow so i figured now is a good time to start fresh
here are some of my questions.

-putting apps, music, pic, vids back on is easy. Now, the notes, contacts and calendar events and so on is confusing. I know icloud backs up the notes, contacts, and cal events, but how do i put those back on the phone without doing a restore to the old corrupt file? if i have a fresh iphone with nothing but a clean copy of ios 5 on it how can i get all those back on there without touching any part of my old backup?

Im pressed for time, and im constantly confusing myself more and more.
I basically just want to start fresh and not touch my backup, but at the same time sync anything possible to eliminate me having to manually put every contact, note, and cal event back in there.

Any tips or help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

On your phone, go to Settings> General> Reset> Erase All content and Settings

Now during your Set-up process, you will be prompted to Restore from a back-up or Setup as news, Select New.

To restore your information, continue with the above process, you will be asked to Sign into your iCloud account and with a few more steps you will be done. Your contacts, notes, bookmarks etc... should be downloading automatically by the time you finish the setup process. .

Thanks for all the help. Everything worked perfect. Signed into iCloud on my phone and BAM, contacts and events. Setup my email and BOOM, my notes were there!
