So I got the new pros 2 and went to bluetooth and forgot the old airpods. When trying to pair to her phone it said it was someone elses airpods but I was still able to pair it and change the name. We tested it and she could hear from her phone but I am unsure if ownership is still mine or did it transfer to her.

How would I check this?

Edit: just checked her find my and the airpods show up. So does that mean they are hers now?

If your old ones work on her phone and if your new ones work on your phone and if you are both able to use both sets at the same time does the official ownership really matter? I do not have airpods so I have no idea. It may matter.

Hold down the small button on the back of the AirPods until it flashes orange and then white again. That should set them back to factory settings.

When I was pairing, it said to hold that down. Do I need to do it again?

Open the lid, disconnect the AirPods from the phone(s), hold down the small button on the back (will be about 15 seconds give or take) the light will blink white, it will start blinking orange and after a couple more seconds it should blink white again. Once it’s done this, leave them alone to do their thing for a minute and you then should be good to repair them as if they were new AirPods.
