Hi Everyone,

My friend is a grade school teacher and I might enlist her to help me get a new MacBook Pro. I have a questions regarding the registration of the laptop and Applecare and how that all relates to warranty issues. If it is bought under my friends name, can I still register the laptop and the Applecare under my name or will it need to stay under their name? I would not want to contact her every time I have a registration or warranty related issue.

Thanks for any info you guys can provide.

you'll be fine. what if she were getting it for you as a gift. i'm also a teacher and bought my friend a mac and just gave him the receipt and when he registered it, he used his name. just think of all the parents that buy macs for their college students. it's all the same.

Or

you could be an incoming student at your local community college and just buy it yourself at the Apple education store online. They don't check to see if you are really a student.
