No more aqua blue backgrounds with penstripe. Much better looking. Probably a preview for the new marble interface for Mac OSX

That would be pretty nice design, but would it make sense for a big touchscreen?

The iPhone UI was designed to fit the form factor of a small touchscreen, making sure only the most important information is shown on screen at any given time. You could easily use the device with your thumbs.

It's obvious the tablet is going to use a unique UI, as OS X isn't designed around a touch input, and the iPhone UI is designed for a small form factor.

A 10" inch touchscreen is going to be different. It wouldn't make much sense for scroll bars, as scroll bars are designed for keyboard/mouse input. Apple has probably spent most of the development time researching and implementing different control elements, as usability is one of Apple's main focuses. It's going to be interesting to see how Apple has overcome the problems of interfacing with a large touchscreen, as your thumbs aren't easily going to reach across the screen.

Less than 24 hours now...

I agree, the function of the UI will be very much based on the use of two thumbs...but the look of the UI will look like iLife 09 not Aqua

Those are all features of the upcoming Marble interface. Rumor had it that the interface would be in SL, but now it looks like it will be in 10.7.

You are looking at OS X interface features. I would bet that the interface will look very similar to the iPhone.
