So im a complete beginner in programming i have Xcode on my mac and I've tried to no avail to learn pearl.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me about tutoring thats available or how i can learn the language used to write mac/iPhone applications.

does anyone tutor/teach? books? documentation?

Look up a tutor on your local craigslist or use Google. Asking for a local tutor here is a major shot in the dark.

By "knowing someone" i mean someone on the forum who maybe teaches online or is willing to. i want to mainly make applications for Mac

yeah that's an old thread sorry i didn;t know i still had that D: i'll check it out see if anything is helpful. All that was really on that thread was sas about how i used to type

Perl can be quite complex to learn.
Though if you want a jump start on building games using Cocoa, look in the links in my signature...

But he assumes you know Obj-C, C or C++ first so it snot good for beginners.

There's a 7-day course that covers C, Obj-C, and Cocoa ("Beginning Cocoa Bootcamp," and also "Beginning iPhone Bootcamp"). I would still recommend learning the basics on your own, but the OP specifically wanted tutoring--which you can't get from a book.

When you're taking your first steps you should learn at your own pace. A tutor can't provide that (Not for an amount that wont break your wallet anyway.)
