Hi Guys,

One one my friend is travelling to the U.S and I am hoping to get the Airpods Pro picked up by him either in the Apple Store itself or delivered to him at his address, or from any other Third Party Apple Reseeller. Just some days back Amazon.com was running a Black Friday offer where it was offering the iPods Pro at a all time low price of $230 or something. Do you guys think is there any other place where such an offer is going on right now ? Where else can I find such a offer for the AirPods Pro ?

Also another question that I have is, My friend is visiting Washington DC and Miami and. Believe both these states have State Tax in the form of Sales Tax. I was hoping to get this picked up at the base price that Apple is selling which is $239 so is there any other way that i can get this picked up at Base price without the Sales Tax. Like for e.g. any possibility that there is a Apple Store or Apple seller Store at the Washinton Dulles Airport Will he have to pay the State Sales ax even there ?

What are my options ?

Can anyone please suggest ?

Thanks in Advance !

Sales tax is location dependent. If he’s going to Miami and DC he is going to pay sales tax. The closest place with no sales tax is Delaware so if he or she can get to Delaware they can get it there. That being said the cost to travel there will cost more then the tax so you’re better off just paying it. Maybe they could try getting it shipped from B&H photo to the location they are staying since they are only in NYC thus might not charge sales tax. A lot of states are now starting to charge sales tax on online purchase now so still might be charged.

Does Dulles Airport have an Apple Store or Apple Reseller Store from where this can be picked up ?

The best way for him to buy it tax free is to buy it online from a reseller who doesn't charge sales tax and ship it to his hotel. Adorama for instance might ship to Miami without charging tax. They certainly ship to Atlanta without charging tax.

The way it works is if an online retailer doesn't have presence in a state and also has less than a threshold sales volume in that state, then they aren't required to charge taxes. Also on Amazon you may find amazon resellers who are exempt from charging sales tax.

Eh I hate resellers since you trust they are selling legit items. I avoid them like the plague tbh.

In general I agree. But the reseller I mentioned is very reputable. They are an authorized Apple reseller. You suggested B&H Photo that is a reseller too.

Most major US Airports have an consumer/travel electronics store called “InMotion“. They sell Apple and other major brands (Sony, JBL, Sennheiser, AEG, etc)

No idea if they sell duty free. Give them a call?

(BTW, Pros are selling fast. You may not find a pair anywhere)

I thought you meant amazon ones.

That's good point. Have to be careful with some of those. Although BH Photo, Adorama, Focus photo all sell on Amazon too. But for Airpods Pro there aren't many resellers. It is still in short supply.

THis ^^^. You'll be lucky if he can find a pair for sale anywhere. They show up in Apple stores around here several mornings each week but disappear very quickly.

Usually those airport kiosk charge retail prices. You won‘t get a deal from them. They are usually for convenience and impulse purchase (I can speak for buying beats headphones back in the day at the airport).

B&H has been charging sales tax for almost this entire year. They have a refund scheme but it involves getting some card.

I just checked the stores in my area. Two of them have these in stock this morning. They'll probably be out of stock by mid-day. The other stores are showing availability on January 20, but at some point in the next few days most of them will have some in stock. Trying to match timing and location right now is very difficult and expecting to find some kind of price break is completely unrealistic.
