I, unfortunately, was one of the many who purchased an early 2011 MBP (the model with the massive logic board failure). I was unable to have it repaired (even though I had apple care) because of supposed 'water damage' even though there was none. I moved on several years ago, but recently decided to do a tear down of the 2011 MBP, and see what parts I could salvage, with the monitor being my main focus.
Now what'd I'd really like to do is turn the 15" monitor into an external monitor. There were many guides on how to do this, but none related to an apple monitor. So before tinkering around I thought I would proffer the internet for aid.
Any thoughts?
