Hello.
I've got a Macbook Pro (model no. A1175) that took a pretty bad fall and now has a broken LCD screen. Apart from the damaged screen, however, the computer is still very functional as I've been able to use it with an external monitor and have not detected any internal hardware problems so far.
I'd like to run the Apple Hardware Test (or any similar diagnostics test) so that I can have a better idea as to what the full extent of the damages are. Unfortunately, it seems the Macbook can only detect an external monitor throught the dvi port once the OS is running and, if I understand correctly, the Apple Hardware Test runs outside of (or before) the OS.
Does anyone know of a way that I can run the Apple Hardware Test (or similar) on a Macbook Pro with an external monitor?
