Hey there!
I want to start making applications for the iphone/ipodtouch. Where do I begin? I have an idea for an app but I have no idea how to start making it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

This (should) have showed up at the top of this forum:
How do I get started programming on the Mac (or iPhone)?

You didn't provide much background on your programming experience, etc. I guess the categories would break down something like:
I've never programmed before.
I've programmed something, but never programmed for the Mac using Cocoa before.
I've programmed using Cocoa before, but never programmed using Cocoa Touch before.

Depending on which of these categories you fall into, there are different approaches you'll need to take, decreasing in length as you go down the list.

If you give us more information on your background, we may be able to give more specific suggestions.

If you have no programming experience, learn to program first (about 2 college semester courses worth, or equivalent self study might do). Then dive into the iPhone SDK.
