Want to use email on my iPad but can't figure out the best way to do it

I want to stay with pop3 on my computer but want also pop3 on my iPad. What would be the best way to sync emails between both devices please ? Thanks. Oh yeah I use Thunderbird on my computer and not sure what app yet on my iPad testing a lot of different email apps.

I know just use IMAP but I don't like how it adds unnecessary folders I can't delete or at least hide.

Pop3 really is not the way to go in 2017, especially not for keeping devices in sync.

Have you tried clicking on edit (direct translated from non english UI) in upper right corner in mail app in the folder view and see what options you have. I don't have my iPad anymore, so this is from iPhone, so not sure exactly where it is on iPad.

My main problem is finding a email client on the pc that allows hidding imap unnecessary folders I don't like seeing.

Outlook has favorites. So just drag the folders you want to favorites and collapse the account.

On Mac, Apple Mail has a favorite-bar, which works similar, just horisontal.

You can delete most IMAP folders. Or at least I don't have any such folder I don't want there to be on my iCloud and Gmail accounts. The ones you can't delete are things like inbox, trash, etc. But you probably don't want to delete those anyway.

If you are using Gmail, you have to log in to gmail.com and from the settings you can delete/hide the things you don't want to see.

POP3 is ok if you are using only one device, but with anything more than that you want to use IMAP.

Airmail and Spark both hide folders by default. They are collapsed and easily accessible, but hidden. Airmail is not free, but it is very, very powerfull and allows for nice customisation according to your needs. Spark is also great, and free, but their UI is hiddeous with ugly blue color dominating the UI and bad typography. For some reason it uses 40-50% more battery per day than Airmail and Mail app, which is also a reason I don't use it. Yet, it is also very simple to use.
