Basically, I didn't save my SHSH things when I jailbroke and now I want to remove the jailbrake as I am selling the phone.
How risky is restoring - I jailbroke on IOS 6.1 and I don't think Apple is signing it anymore?!
Just make a full restore for the latest firmware available for your device and sell it. IOS 6.1 won't do.
I'm a noob with all of this, how do I do a restore for the latest firmware?
I have downloaded the latest update onto my Itunes but when I go to restore, the only restore point I have is the date that I jailbroke it.
Download the latest firmware file first: http://www.idownloadblog.com/download/
1. Dock phone on Mac/PC and load iTunes.
2. Put in DFU mode: http://thebigboss.org/guides-iphone-ipod-ipad/dfu-mode
Once iTunes recognizes the phone, select the phone and hold shift (PC) or option (MAC) and click restore. This will bring up a browse box where you can select the firmware you wish to program. (The firmware file you just downloaded)

OK so I have it in DFU and have downloaded the latest file but when I click restore and shift, there is just a folder but nothing that I click to open?
You need to hold the keyboard key first and then hit Restore. Then choose the firmware file and it will do the rest.
I did as you said and it just started restoring now on it's own, didn't even allow me to choose a file, the box came up but then closed down and immediately started to restore?!

You do realize that a jailbroken phone (especially when a jailbreak isn't currently available like now) CAN fetch a much higher price tag. Go look at what apple tv 2s are going for these days, it's nuts.
This is because you didn't need to download any ipsw file. Apple does this for you. Just connect the phone to iTunes and click restore. That's it.
I was struggling to get what I was asking for it jailbroke, as soon as I changed it to 6.1.4, the interest flooded in. Hopefully getting picked up later. 64gb white £450 ;-)
