Hey guys so tomorrow I'm going to go to the apple store because I'm not happy with the screen and the colours it displays. I'm worried they won't replace it because they might think I'm being to picky....

Il be taking my MacBook pro with me and iv duplicated screen shots from my iPad and put them on my Macbook pro to show how much the iPad screen looks very dull and yellow.

I bought it st the uk launch. Will they swap it even if they dont I'm right?

Comparing your MacBook and an iPad won't help your case. Your best bet would be to compare your iPad and an iPad they have on display in the store. EVERY LCD is different, and even my iPad looks "yellow" by comparison to my iMac or MacBook Pros..

I suspect your iPad is fine, fyi. It's normal for there to be color variance between displays. Post some pictures if you think it's "defective."

The colour is very off, iv compared it to my MacBook pro, hp 2159m monitor, my compaq mini 311 netbook and my iPod touch. All of those devices show almost nearly the same colours without much notiseable difference, however the iPad defiantly shows a huge difference.

The blue wallpaper on my MacBook pro looks very yellowed and greenish on my iPad.

If I post screenshots won't help because your monitor will show the images correctly.

I emailed myself screenshots from the iPad to the mbp and then on there they look perfect, same with my net book.

So if your within 14 days you can ask for a full refund no matter what? As long as you havnt broken it obviously?

Here is some pictures I just took, sorry for the bad quality I cant find my good digi cam.

Hope you guys can see the colour difference too.. i know the images arnt very high quality

I can tell you your iPad looks fine from what I can tell, but the laptop on the right has a NASTY yellow tinge. Again, your iPad is going to look nothing like other screens, anyway.

But heck, it's your time...

hmm I dont see it looking yellowish only the ipad screen to me looks yellowish :S I guess il just take it in and see what they say... its really bugging me

Just explain your issue clearly and politely, I'd be surprised if they won't exchange it.

If it's bugging you, see what they say. But seriously, if you can't see how yellow that right-side laptop looks compared to the middle one..., then...

Honestly I dont see it :S It looks duller though because its nowhere near as bright as the mbp screen.

But to me the ipad (at the left) looks really washed out and faded...and yellowish.

grr... I just hope they will exchange it even if they think im nuts...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Looks within spec to me. You can ask for a replacement if it bothers you but I doubt there will be much difference.

well you guys were wrong (no offence) took it in today it was compared against the models on display and the tint was absolutely apparant. Another thing the brightness on my ipad was WAY brighter than any others in the store (they were all at full brightness too)

Genious had a look noted everything and swapped it for a brand new one. Just got home now and the screen looks much better although there is still colour issues on some web pages... they are no where near as bad as before.

I wonder if the screens in the 3G's are slightly different to the wifi models? the wifi model screens have a cooler look to them (as in colours)

Unless every monitor I've ever used has the same yellowing defect (possible, since i'm usually not picky about monitors), my iPad is perfect.

In the photo you took, the blue-grey banner at the top of the page looked a little too grey, for sure. I'm glad you could get it replaced.
