In Windowed mode, I gain around 100 FPS than when it's maximised, this doesn't seem to make any sense. Any ideas why?

In another map that I get around 30 FPS in, in windowed mode it goes up to 90-100.

well my first question would be: how do you see your FPS in WC3 ?
I guess if your window is smaler, the graphic card has less work to do ?

I get the same thing with quake live, if i play on windowed mode it is smooth, if i play full screen it is impossible to play.

I got a Black macbook...

Just type /fps into the chat box. Someone told me it is because it runs at a lower resolution when you minimise, whereas most games stay at the same resolution and get a lower FPS in windowed mode.

Lets look at it this way.

Windowed mode I am going to guess is 800x600. Compare that to my resolution of 1920x1200. I wonder which gets better FPS ;). But the viewing on that small of a screen is just outrageous when you have this big of a screen.

Yeah, but World of Warcraft doesn't do that, and you get a couple of frames less, so I thought Warcraft 3 would be the same.
