Hello,
We just bought a new iMac 2.4GHz for the entire family on which I created 4 Users : two for my parents, one for me and one for my brother, on which I imposed the Parental Control but without any restriction yet. Then I installed Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne from my session. Now my goal was to install it so that my brother and I could play it on our respective accounts. In theory this shouldn't be a problem since the Applications directory is shared between the accounts. Thus when launching it from my session and creating a profile in-game, it works flawlessly. But, here's my problem :
When I log into my brother's session, launch the game and try to create a profile for him, an error-message pops-up saying that the hard drive lacks free space (although I still have 150+Gb free space). Now my question is not only how to fix this, but also up to what extent are the applications sharable on a multi-user computer ?
This also leads us to another question which is probably not directly linked to the topic. I installed Microsoft Messenger, that is to be shared between the users as well. Will I be able to save my .net-password in the messenger, without the entire family having access to my contact list ? And: when I try to change the profile picture and click "ok", nothing happens, just like if the link was dead.
Now is this just a dumb bug, or are there some restrictions linked with the authorizations for a user to modify a system file ?
I'd like to mention again that the msn thing is just a secondary problem, my main concerne being for Warcraft 3.
Thank you for any help !
P.S.: Pardon my english if you notice any mistakes, it's not my first language
