What's the hypocritical part?
Guys, seriously ??! Let me paraphrase it: Despite of you asking us not to collect the info, We do collect it BECAUSE no one told us HOW not to do so. ,.. or even a better one: i don't know how precisely NOT to kill you so ,.. farewell! ??!?!??!

What they are saying is: There is no prescribed way of living without stealing, so until you, good guys supply, standardise and teach us one, we're going to do whatever we want.

If they were hypocritical, they'd have a no collection policy but they would still collect info. I see them being up front with their privacy policy detailing explicity what they're doing. You may not like that stance and I'm not refuting that, but its by no means hypocrisy

it's a bit better than clearly being fraudulent, for sure.
Being up front would be something in the likes of :" YES we collect your information,YES we do ignore your pleads."
What they've written instead reveals acknowledgment of a problem and diverting the blame with preposterous excuse.
That is exactly hypocrisy: The practice of CLAIMING to have MORAL standards to which one's own behavior does not conform.

I disagree, but if you're upset about their privacy stance, you should vote with your wallet
