If you have eWallet on your iPhone, be very careful with that "Update all" button! Installing the new 7.0 update will break syncing with the current desktop counterpart (version 6.1). They promise to release an update of the desktop version that will fix this next week, but according to the release notes in the appstore you may have to pay for it! Read more about it on their blog (also take a look at the user comments):

1Password is useless for people who need to sync with a Windows machine. But of course there are more alternatives ...

Yeah, this caught me out. 5 updates showing, update all, no more ewallet desktop sync. Read the notes, see it says get update of desktop version, go online, nope, not there. That was the final straw. I'm fed up with Ilium. Yes ewallet is a nice product and I prefer it over 1Password but being Mac based, it is a pain having to sync under Parallels. Been waiting for ages for Mac client without luck. So this cockup made me switch.

I don't like the 1Password interface, I don't like how it imports my ewallet data but I do like how it syncs and I like the integration into Safari.

Well, so far I have always been happy with Ilium's customer service and products. I still hope this is just an oversight that will be corrected quickly.

Agree 100%. Been waiting for a mac version, no luck. With the breaking of the sync and the corresponding cost to get the desktop client upgrade, this will push me to 1Password.

I always read the notes before updating an app. I like to know what's coming. So this one didn't catch me off guard. I suspect it will also be worth the price to upgrade the windows app, but I'll have to wait and see on that. Still, as a Windows user, I've been totally happy with things so far.

Yea I usually read the notes too unless Im in a hurry to leave and some of my apps need WiFi to update I just hit update all like most and read the changelogs later on my desktop. And if you dont update on your phone youre force to deal with the nagging badge reminder. Illum knows this, and this seems like a bait and switch maneuver in my opinion. Very poor business etiquette Illum.:(

If you are using a mac you can delete the current version and pull the old version out of your trash - as long as you haven't emptied your trash. This has saved me a few times. Then just ignore the update in the future, although that can be annoying.

It seems Ilium is working on an acceptable solution:

SO – we’re working on a solution that would let you sync your 7.0 iPhone version with an update of the 6.1 desktop version. I’m not making promises here. It’s what we’re shooting for, but we just started working on this so I’m not sure what the end result will be or how long it will take. Now in theory, 7.0 will rock so hard no one will want this solution, but we’re working on it just in case.
So, if you haven't updated the iPhone app, I would recommend not to do so for now and wait until either 7.0 (in case you want the paid upgrade) or the updated 6.1 for the desktop is out.

Update: As I had hoped, Ilium has provided a quick solution. You can now download a version of desktop eWallet 6 that will sync with iPhone eWallet 7:

Or, you can give the new version 7 a try, which as a bonus is now a multiplatform application, i.e. for the $10 upgrade you get eWallet for Windows, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, and presumably the upcoming Mac version, for which a beta version is now available:

Shame the first four comments on the blog aren't exactly glowing testimonials. Not sure I'm ready to try v7 just yet

Well, I just purchased the upgrade. Main change seems to be the modernized user interface (which I like). It works fine so far including sync to the v7.0 iPhone app.

I suppose I deserve it but, I bought the upgrade (big mistake) and now find that the stupid program, which previously, after a fashion, worked and sync'd under Parallels, now doesn't sync under Parallels. It can't see the iphone, despite it being on the network. Big pile of brown biological (and waste of $10). Only option is to wait (for how much longer) for the Mac version to be available. Or, as is probably the case, use 1Password. So a big, big it up for 1Password, which works perfectly.

Ilium Software? Pah.

For those not wanting to upgrade, they've released a new 6.* version that you can update to for free and it will sync with the new app. I'm just going to update to version 7, but at least there is an option now.
