This was not a tax or delivery issue. Note, transactional fees are not passed to the customer in the EU.

Check your credit card and Paypal accounts very carefully

One £99 item charged at £100.69
One £99 item charged at £100.23
One £149 item charged at £154.24

All small amounts of money, but if this was widespread it could be scandalous. No explanation from Apple as yet.

Perhaps the small increases are due to currency fluctuations? $ vs £ ?

Huh? Sure it would be nice to get an email but they made a mistake, fixed it without having to contact them. Most companies would not do that.

Who said I didn't contact them - I have spent over 2 hours on the phone or chat over this! They are defiant, defensive and have not explained any of the problems.
