Yes, I have had it on my powerbook, my MBP for the brief time I had it, but not on my MB.

Every aluminum mac laptop I've seen has had that. It really bothered me when I first got my Powerbook, but now that it's 2 years old, I don't really care.

I don't think I'll buy a metal cased laptop again tho, style-wise it's cool, but plastic is much more practical. I LOVE the new Macbook design, and if I needed a new notebook I'd look into a Rev B.

Mine had that. I slowly bent it back to shape, in very small increments over several days. It's completely flush now. And yes, my iSight works fine. :p

My 18 month old PowerBook is perfectly flush, nothing is out of place.

Not ALL aluminium laptops suffer.

My beautifully gorgeously flawless (save a few scratches on the bottom) 17" PowerBook's lid sits perfectly flush.

My 17" PB RevA has been like that since day one. It annoyed me at first but I got over it. It's a VERY minor detail. I mean if your laptop is closed it's probably in a bag or your not near it.

I assume most of them are like that because of the opening mechanism in the lids. When you open the latch the lid pops open so there is some torque going on there. It's not like a lot of plastic PC laptops where there is no 'spring open'.

I can't understand why they haven't widened the space between the two catches on the 17" PBs and MBPs. It would considerably reduce the issue of a flush lids on those models.

O/T, most 15" and 17" PB's I've seen have this problem, except my current one, which would be perfect if I hadn't dropped it. I've never noticed it on a 12" though.

Plastic makes for a better fit case but then that can shatter completely so...
