Hi there,
The power on/off button of my 3G is not working anymore. I suspect there was a bit of water going into the speaker (the one you put next to your ear).
The moisture sensors (jack + dock) are still ok.
I have sent back the Iphone for repair and I am wondering if the guys at Apple will open the case (and might discover that the two other sensors on the motherboard might have turned red) or just check the sensors located outside.
Best
W.

If there is an issue with the speaker then they will probably open it. Remember, just because there was water that didn't trip the sensor doesn't mean there's no sign of water damage.

Guess you'll have to wait and see who will pay for your repair.

It is encouraging :)

You spilt water unto the ear piece? Of course they will be able to tell if they open the phone!

You may be lucky and they might just replace it outright.

Depends on how diligent he is, or stock levels I supose.

(when you say the power button isn’t working do you mean an intermittent problem, or won't the phone turn on?)

It is a permanent problem...I have to use the home button to awake the phone.

Sent it for repair and got a new Phone :)
I do not think they have time to open the phones....
