Warranty outside of the US for the iPad

What's everyone doing about warranty for their "imported" iPads?

As, apparently, we are not covered for any DOAs, dead pixels, or manufacturing defects outside of country of purchase.

This is why I'm not importing, I'm waiting four months until I get to USA. Buying it day one of my visit then testing it so I can swap it if something is wrong.
