Hi everyone, just got a quick question.

I got a iPhone 3g last year on launch date, but had to get it replaced about 2 months later due to a fault. Now my iPhone is playing up again and i just checked online at apple and it say my phone is out of warranty?

Does the warranty not last for 12 months on the replacement phone?

It's 12 months from the purchase of the original device.

A warranty for any product does not start all over again with the replacement, it is always for the original product purchase date.

Here is my tip: Make a Genius appointment, look nice, be nice and hope for a cool Genius. There are plenty of times where Geniuses have helped out of warranty people. The worst they can say is "no", regardless they can still troubleshoot for you.

This is true, you can sometimes get very lucky, there's no harm in trying.

With Apple, it's either 90 days from when you received the replacement, or the remainder of the original 12-months, whichever is longer.

I like patrickdunn's advice. It won't cost you anything (other than some time) to go back to the Genius Bar and see what they say! :)

I was at an Apple store a little while ago talking to a genius about my MPB, when someone came in with a unresponsive screen on their iphone 3g. The genius said that the phone is out of warranty. The guy asked the genius when it ended, the genius said a few weeks ago. The gentleman asked politely is there anything I can do to purchase a warranty? The genius helped the guy, signed him up for applecare, and gave him a replacement. All he had to do was pay for applecare. Idk how it worked out tho seeing as tho he as out of the 12 month period., but it just goes to show you they do help.
