I've bought a brand new Nexus 7 2013 on shop.ca for ..... $164.00 can !!!
So i couldn't justify 420 $ for a mini.
Hope im going to like the Nexus because i always used Apples tablet and its my first Android device.

It was that cheap because i use ebates.ca (20%) + coupon code + a Paypal promo + shop.ca promo etc.

The thing with Apple product is you always pay the premium price whatever you shop. Anyway i ve kept my Ipad 3, its a great device :D

Congrats on your purchase!

I got a Nexus 7 last month, I have a hard time putting mine down.

The display is amazing, despite it's small size. And it's a gaming powerhouse if gaming is your thing. I enjoy Netflix on it as well.

Just saw that Best Buy has the Nexus 7 (2013) now on sale for $200.00 for the 16gb, darn I couldve saved 30 bucks had I waited a month, that makes it even better of a deal!

But again, enjoy it. I prefer Android on a tablet, which is why I went the Nexus route. iPad mini is a great device as well. I think they are hard to compare simply because one costs twice the amount of the other. But at the same time, because they are compared, it shows how good the Nexus 7. The fact that a $400 tablet is being compared to a $200 tablet just makes you wonder...

I've always been an iOS user and just got a retina mini this week, but I just tried the 2013 Nexus 7 at Staples today and loved it.

It's way more comfortable to hold than the mini because it's narrower and has a soft-touch back. I love the look of Apple's metal devices but it's not human-friendly at all, it's slippery and uncomfortable.

The Nexus 7 was also silky smooth. Even my Nexus 4 wasn't perfectly smooth like an iOS device, it had lots of little lagging incidents. But the Nexus 7 was 100% as smooth as an iPad. The A7 processor might have good benchmarks but in day-to-day use I think they'll be equally smooth and in fact there is lots of lag in my new iPad that I've never seen in an iPhone, and it's kind of upsetting that a $420 device isn't as smooth as it should be.

I'm seriously considering returning my retina mini, getting a Nexus 7 and pocketing the difference! I think you'll be happy with your new device :)

I also just picked up a Nexus 7 for about $150 from a deal on Amazon. No complaints yet. Screen is amazing and max brightness is super bright. I'm just waiting for the KitKat update which should come any moment now as other Nexus 7 users are receiving it.

I've had the Retina Mini for a couple of days now but I feel like a fool for spending a ton of money for a inferior screen. I sold my original mini then a nexus 7 for this. I'm going to return my mini soon so it's down to a nexus 7 again or a kindle hdx.

I think the lag has iOS 7 not the iPad mini. The hardware is there, but the software is just not up to it yet.

good choice bro , even i ordered nexus 7 yesterday buy 32gb one for 260$ including tax .
the competitive iPad mini is more than double the price ands still has no GPS on wifi model !

I had ipad mini 1st gen but returned cause of metal and fragile construction which no doubt looks spectacular but keeps you worried all the time when you are on the go .
Nexus is just so much better in durability department
