Agree. Love the design. It does need to be updated though.
I have both the glossy Macbook Pro and the Air and like both. It would make sense for the Air to be updated to match the rest of the product line, but adding the black bezel and new glass trackpad might add a few ounces of weight, and I can't see Apple adding more weight to the Air unless they can take it away somewhere else. It certainly wouldn't look good in the advertisements for a new Air to be heavier than the old one and would provide fodder for Apple critics that base their arguments on hardware specifications.
My guess is the next revision will have 4GB of RAM and the new batteries and possibly come standard with a 128 SSD. I don't think SSD prices have come down enough to jump to a 256 and maintain the current price point. In most cases, when Apple upgrades a model they maintain the same price point while upgrading the hardware, which for the Air is limited to memory, storage, and speed.
If the tablet rumors do come true I can also see the Air being discontinued. The Air may have been Apple's proof-of-concept that incorporated unibody construction and SSD while making a DVD drive optional in a consumer laptop ; look for a bigger push to SSD in the Pro line. The DVD drive may also start to disappear on some models.
