Was the 1GB cap lifted?

..for developers, that is. I've noticed some nav apps, such as Navigon, weigh in at greater than 1 GB (1.3 GB for Navigon). I seem to remember that Apple set the limit for apps to be no larger than 1 GB. Does this still stand or do they apply for special considerations? Or is this just another example of inconsistent app store approval policies?

I read 2GB somewhere. Sygic is 1.62GB. That's largest i'm aware of

For nav apps it has to be. Perhaps it's okay only for nav apps? Only those in the SDK know will be able to confirm.

This must have been changed recently and is new news to me. The whole reason G-Map had to make two applications a while back, G-Map East and West, was because of the 1 GB cap.

I agree that if anything, nav apps should be allowed the greater space.

The limit has always been 2GB. A quick google search confirms that many sites were reporting it as such last year.
