"For another day" doesn't exactly mean the next keynote. I'm surprised the Mac Pro wasn't announced today but hopefully they'll announce it in the next event or so this year if they want to meet the two year deadline of the transition.

I hope they take their time.

Kuo says it is a 2023 product so Apple could have kicked it down the road to WWDC 2023.

Wayne Ma claimed Apple is developing a 40-core version of M3 due in 2023 and that would be a logical SoC for a 2023 Mac Pro.

Honestly how many people need a Mac Pro that the rest of the line can't handle. That small percentage that need that much power will have to wait.

My guess is that the Mac Pro will run on, like, the M2 Max or M2 Ultra or something, and I guess we'll be seeing an announcement in fall?

Well, at the price Apple charges, you'd expect the Mac Pro to stay top of the line. Not even an updated Intel CPU to mitigate that.

Doesn't help that Intel changes the CPU socket with every generation so at the volumes Apple does, it is likely not cost-effective to offer updated CPUs since they would have to do an entirely new system board.

That is true. This is the one thing I entirely hate of Intel. Each new architecture is a new socket. An atrocious money grab.

AMD's single socket solution is godsend.

They said they were going to complete the transition in two years, which gives them until November to launch the Mac Pro. They could also be forced to delay it because of unforeseen supply chain issues.

I wonder if we'll see the 7k XDR before the end of the year, or if that will have to wait until 2023.

If the Mac Pro was ready to launch in 2022, I am confident they would have announced it today.

That they did not, makes me think it's going to be a 2023 product and might not be announced until WWDC next year (though it might actually be available on that date, for once).

With global supply chains in flames for years, Apple should get a pass for missing the two year transition window, IMO.

I mean, they announced the last one in November and shipped it in late December. They’re not going to sell massive quantities of these, I think they can probably get them out on short notice.

They could get away with pushing it to 2023 but I don’t expect them to do that.

The 2019 Mac Pro was revealed in June at WWDC. Same with the 2013 Mac Pro (revealed in June at WWDC that year).

It'll be announced by November (the two year mark for the Apple Silicon transition period.) If not announced, it'll be delayed at that time.

we can close this or continue since the OP miss-understood ?
If we can continue, its clear the Mac Pro will take the stage after iphone event, probably in the last event of this year and since Mac Pro dont come alone for an hour event, that means we get the next ipad pros with the M2 and probably the M2 mac mini
