Yeah, I considered that one, but i already have a 2.2 macbook, and I just wanted a intel imac to use as my primary home based computer. I already have the leopard upgrade disc, so thats not an issue. And I have a baby at home, so anywhere i can save a little money is a good thing. Guess this is maybe not that good of a deal. Oh well, live and learn.

If you have the leopard disc...and its really just to have around the house...then $350 is a big deal with a new baby...Congrats on that...hope the baby is happy and healthy....Gadgets are great but the Baby wins in this battle!

yeah macs are cool, but not that cool. Thanks for your input. Can't wait to get this imac. I guess if i don't like it, i could probably get most of my money back out of it.

You should be very happy with it, I love mine that I got on the day they came out, so much so that I have not felt the need to upgrade to the new one yet, it is a very capable machine for what I am sure you will be using it for and the deal was a good one in my opinion. Toss in another stick of RAM and have fun. If you decide it's no for you let me know and I would consider taking it off your hands.

Congrats!

If you use it and enjoy it, then you got a good deal. At the beginning of the month i got the white 20" c2d new in box from a starving college student for 300 more and no sales tax. THE VERY NEXT DAY apple had its shiny sister on the refurb price for 9 more plus sales tax. For a day or two I agonized over it, until I saw that the specs between the two machines weren't too different, and realized that I enjoyed using the machine.

And yes, you can still probably get most of your money back if you want to sell it anytime soon. Enjoy your imac.

I think that was a pretty fair price. I see older generation mac minis selling for $400-550. So if you were able to get an imac for $600(+shipping)...that's not so bad....
Also, just because it's an older generation imac doesn't mean it's only worth $200 :D

Good luck with it, and have fun ;)

got this in the mail the other day. Its in beautiful shape. And to my surprise, there was a nice little applecare box with it that said not to worry about a thing until july of 2009. Nice surprise.

If you're happy with it, it's a good deal. Enjoy it!

I got a imac 20" 2.16 c2d white new out of a box from a starving university student last month, and had enjoyed it for a day when the apple refurb store had it's alumimum twin for 9 USD more (plus sales tax).

After asking myself repeatedly if I got screwed, I realized that a) the difference in processing power was negligible, b) the new 20" had a cheaper screen than mine, c) the feature set was about the same, and (most importantly) d) I enjoyed the machine. Primarily, my machine is the white that apple's getting away from, and 'only' supports 3 gigs of ram rather than 4. It meets my needs, and most of my desires, and I am content.
