Washed out colors on iPhone 12 display?

Recently purchased an iPhone 12 (non-Pro). I had been using an XR, and it’s become apparent to me that the display is just off. I’ve tried resetting it, I’ve tried messing with True Tone - and it’s not a “yellow” issue, it’s an issue with the contrast/vibrancy in the other direction. I’m about to compare to some at the store tomorrow to see if this is actually abnormal, but honestly off memory this looks worse than LCD.

Is this an LG issue since they are behind the regular iPhone 12 display? Should I go for the 12 Pro (Samsung display) to avoid rolling the die on this should it be a defect? Never seen an OLED display look this way.

Pretty sure the 12 is LG and the 12 Pro is Samsung. BOE never made the yield cut.

Sorry, to be clear, I think the 12 is the only LG model, the other iPhone 12’s (Mini, Pro, Max) are all Samsung, as of recent reports.

It shouldn’t look washed out. Return it to Apple

My display looks eerily similar to this person’s “Washed out” display on their iPhone 12 Mini. Hopefully Best Buy doesn’t make this return a PITA.
