Wasn’t this no tracking option that is being wildly reported available before iOS 14.5?

I’ve had that option on my phone throughout 14.4 and I don’t install betas.

No, you're not crazy.

Disabling IDFA tracking has long been a blanket, all or nothing option prior to 14.5

What 14.5 does is allow permissions on a per app basis, makes the user aware of the option, and forces one to make a choice.

Apple has also tightened up the rules for developers, and will no doubt be more vigilant about enforcing them in this respect.
