Guys. I bought the below 4 yrs ago and the band is still good as new! Will it be compatible with the new Watch 10 46mm?
Apple Apple Watch Series 7 GPS + Cellular, 45mm Midnight Aluminum Case with Midnight Sport Band - Regular

Also it doesn't appear people buy the sport band anymore, are the other band like solo loop, sports loop etc really all that better? I haven't visited a store to try yet because the Sport band seems to be just fine for sports, swim, etc

Thanks

Yes it will be. All smaller bands work with the new 42mm, and all larger bands work with the 45mm. There might be fit issues, but otherwise it will work

I kind of disagree. I’d say they’re Apple’s most popular still.

All widths are only a hair wider than the 40/41 for the new 42 bands, but with the 46mm series 10 you are ordering you can mix and match bands from your existing Apple Watch to your new Apple Watch, even with Apple Watch Ultra bands.

What I meant was because there’s two sizes, the original smaller size will work all bands that are for the smaller size, and the same for the bigger size.
The measurements now are close to being the same as the larger size from the original, but are only compatible with the bands for the smaller size.
You can of course wear whatever you want for the watch, but the bands will fit best if you keep small to small, and big to big

I do have a thorough explanation in a similar thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/any-fit-differences-between-40mm-and-42mm-straps.2436913/

I tested the 40/41 bands on a new 42mm Apple Watch series 10, you only see a small hair of extra space. Vice versa with an Apple Watch SE 2:
