Having pre-ordered the Watch 7 which comes with a fast charging cable I want to identify the correct Apple power adaptor for the new watch however Apple are not actually showing which one to purchase.

It's USB-C 20 watt I think but I cannot see any wired charger product which lists watch 7 compatibility. We have Mac and iPad USB-C charging and I want to have the charger for watch 7 fast charging bought so I have it when the watch eventually gets delivered.

Any suggestions on which charger I need assuming I don't want the fancy wireless one.

I can only see a 5w plug. It's really weird how they don't make it clear which plug we need now that they're no longer shipping with one.

Fast charging requires an Apple USB-C Magnetic Fast Charging Cable. This cable has aluminum around the magnetic charger and a USB-C connector.

You also need one of these power adapters:

  • Apple 18W, 20W, 29W, 30W, 61W, 87W, or 96W USB-C Power Adapter
  • A comparable third-party USB-C power adapter that supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) of 5W or greater

You have to make sure it uses PD (power delivery) and is 5w or greater. I'm not even sure if that's enough as I'm using a 20w PD charger with the official cable, but am only seeing about 1%/minute of charge, far from the 0-80% in 45 minutes they advertise.
