Hi everyone,

WatchOS6 looks great! Anyone with a S3 model, are their any new watch faces? how is it?

thanks :)

If only we could get iOS 13 beta soon enough...
PS: due to 2FA I cannot enroll developer program.

Yes, Apple introduced new watch faces, that was discussed during the keynote. Also, asking ‘how watchOS 6 is’, will greatly change, because it’s a ‘beta one’ until we see the final version in the fall.

So far so good. Actually Apple Watch OS 6 is big update compared to IOS13.
I Can feel apple is going towards standalone watch operation rather than depending on iPhone. It can do pretty much every thing as standalone device. Software updates, App Store as some examples. I like new California screen.

Battery - yet to fully observe one cycle

Over on Reddit someone noted they only got two of the new watch faces on the beta. I was waiting for a Series 5 to upgrade but I think I’m just going to upgrade now.

My biggest concern is battery life. My Series 3 (42mm) on 5.2 can make a charge last over 2 days.

Yeah I read the same. I'm disappointed. Announcing new watch faces for WatchOS 6, releasing it to all series. And only make 2 of them available on the older series is just bs. Theres no reason to make the watchfaces not available on older devices.

Well infographic watch face and other faces that are derived from it would not be available in Apple Watch series 1 to 3 anyway.

Sure, but since they hyped the new faces so much, I would have thought they made some changes.

With Apple Watch series 5 on the horizon, Apple won’t adapt it to earlier versions. With that being said, I am ok not using those new watch faces. Modular ftw.

Have you seen a version of the beta running on v4 to confirm that there are not only 2 faces included in this first beta ?

I can confirm that only two new watch faces (Numerals Mono and Duo) are available on both of my Series 2 watches. No other new watch faces.

I’m running the WatchOS 6 beta on my series 4 watch and I can confirm that all of the faces mentioned in the keynote are available.

Two new watch faces only with the big numerals. But they are stunning! Not even duochrome versions of modular.

First day, but after a 15 minute walking workout I am down to 19% at 3.30pm after taking it off at 8am. Not terribly impressed with battery life, but it's beta 1, day 1 so that might change.

Thanks. Yes, everything was discussed at the Keynote, but no specifics for the S3 model. I understand it's a beta, I was curious about its performance compared to WatchOS5.

It would be nice to know what features are for each watch model.

It was good, but now it’s awful... I am stuck on an endless unpair/repair loop at the moment because of an error.

Hi everyone,

I put OS6 on my series 3 this morning and it seems battery life is worse but could be as expected. Also, I don’t see the hearing stuff with decibels. Maybe it isn’t released yet or just isn’t on series 3? Haven’t read much more on it.

On my Series 3 there are subtle changes everywhere. Like the red notification dot is slightly bigger. And colors seem more saturated. For instance, here is a comparison of the message app buttons. The left is watchOS 6 and the right is watchOS 5. You can see the blue is deeper in 6 and the microphone is bolder.

Here is an App Store shot on a 42mm Series 3. Note, this is how you download your apps now. You can no longer do it from the watch app on the iPhone.

There’s also new options in the settings. Like screenshots and beta profiles. You can also check for software updates right from your watch without your iPhone.

Oh, and the reminders on Series 3 gets the new updated style.

And here is the new “Now Playing” screen on the smaller screen if you’re interested.
