Apple is reorganizing their financial results starting with this quarter. iPod will be rolled into a new "Products" category, which will eventually include the Apple Watch. It seems to me that Apple is setting relatively modest expectations for the Apple Watch sales in the first year.

An analyst just asked the question I was thinking. Tim Cook's response was "Also, to be also straight, I'm not very anxious to report a lot of numbers on Apple Watch and giving a lot of detail on it. Our competitors are looking for it. Aggregating it is helpful from that point of view as well."

Perhaps this will be the future for other products as well. I mean there's no SEC requirement that says Apple has to provide sales figures for anything. Amazon never provides sales figures for their hardware or the number of prime subscribers. Microsoft has never provided sales figures for Surface. I actually like it.
